Wheel braces are much of a muchness. All types will undo the wheel nuts so the wheel can be removed from the vehicle. Many of the original equipment wheel braces are actually not that effective. Some will either bend or break and others flare open the socket end all becoming unusable.
Les Richmond Automotive does supply an alternative wheel brace to the light duty genuine items. The wheel brace is a one-piece cast iron with a heavy-duty sized handle, which will not bend or break. The socket end has a thick wall thickness around the single hex socket. A single hex socket is important if trying to remove the wheel nuts with the stainless tin covers as a multi hex socket will damage the cover and sometimes will strip the wheel nut making a repair on the side of the road a much larger ordeal then it should be.
