Axles and CV joints
If you have introduced items like larger tyres, diff locks or even more power it is important to increase the strength of the drive line to decrease the risk of component failure but more importantly increase the safety of the vehicle for its passengers.

Rear Axle
There are many brands of rear axles available. One of the best brands to chose from is HTE, High tough engineering. "Same manufacturer as the Maxi Drive Axles" There are many axles available depending on what vehicle and age. A set of HTE axles and drive flanges manufactured from air craft materials for durability will increase the rear axle strength limiting the risk of breakage.
Front Axle
Especially if larger tyres and diff locks have been installed the upgrading of the CV joints and front inner axles have to be seriously considered. There are a few options noted below in order of our recommendations of products to use to strengthen the front axle.

Heavy Duty CV joints for Land Rover vehicles with a FIVE YEAR warranty
There has for some time been a need for a stronger CV joints especially with the recent trend of fitting 35" tyres or similar, some people shrink a band around the existing CV bell, some fit the early type AEU 2522 to the later axles as this is the strongest one Land Rover can offer but these still fail.
We have manufactured the CV from scratch using improved materials, the inner and cage are from 300M and the bell is from 4340 alloy steel. There are a number of design changes which have been incorporated to produce a CV far exceeding the strength of anything else on the market. These units have been subject to some very thorough testing in the UK and Europe and allow the driver to confidently use the front locker when on full steering lock even with the vehicle on it's nose. We are also now able to offer late sytle CVs which are ABS compatible. Please click here for our test results.

As good a product as their rear axles and can be used with all CV joints "including the Ashcroft CV without modifications" . An excellent product and a worthy choice.
