The 2002 onwards Defenders have been fitted with the weakest rear diff outside of the freelander.
Les Richmond Automotive is installing a prototype diff from Ashcroft Transmissions. This diff will be released shortly for sale. What makes this diff so superiour over the rear diff in these Defenders is.......
Longer diff nose for better pinion support.
Wider crown wheel (white) and larger cross pins (black).
Hypoid diff giving even more strength through more tooth contact.
NOTE:
The rear propshaft has to be shortened by 31mm to install this diff.
